In the end I went up to US 2.5 needles for the colorwork part and knitted really loosely, but it fits! Once the colorwork was done I went to a 1.5 for the ribbing, and have about another inch and a half on that. Yaaaayyy! And then I have to finish the other one, of course, and do some blocking. But getting it to the right gauge feels like a win anyway 🙂

You were right! The pattern still shows up OK 🙂 It looks a little wonky right now, but I think that’s partially because I was knitting with frogged yarn, so it was a little curly.
