Arrowhead Cardigan Cast-on

I started a new project today, the Arrowhead Cardigan (Ravelry link) by Anna Cohen.

The main color yarn is Dream in Color Classy in the Peacock Shadow colorway, and the contrast color is Malabrigo Rios in the Solis colorway. At least I think so. I’m a little concerned that there may not be enough contrast, so I’m going to knit a few rows to make sure. In the black and white view, they are a dark and a medium value, so not high contrast, but there’s some. There is another option for the contrast color in my stash if this combination doesn’t work out. Shouldn’t I have just done a swatch to test it out? Yes, but I didn’t think of that until I was halfway through the first colorwork row. So I may have to tink back a couple rows, but we shall see.

When in doubt on your projects, do you usually forge ahead, or backtrack?

  1. I hope it works out. These colors are luscious. For me, I guess I have done both of these in dealing with project not going well. It depends on what is wrong, how far along I am in the knitting and how important the project is to me.
