So far the pattern is very well written. They socks are toe-up, which is my preference anyway. It starts with a cast-on I haven’t used before – the winding cast-on. It was very well explained in the pattern, and I had no trouble with it at all. The lace and texture pattern is charted out. It looks really ornate, but is easy to do as well.
This pattern gives you the option of doing socks or stockings. Right now my intention is to do stockings (roughly knee high), but we’ll see how I feel about it when I get around the ankle area.
The yarn I am using is Knit Picks’ Stroll in the Electric Blue colorway. The pattern calls for John Arbon Exmoor sock yarn, but by the time I went looking for it, every skein of that yarn in all of their blue colorways in the entire world was sold out, as far as I can tell. But this yarn is doing fine! Do I need to use blue yarn to knit the bluestocking socks? No. But it entertains me, so that’s what I’m doing 🙂
