I finished my Op Tiki scarf! The pattern is Op Tiki (Ravelry link). I have been wanting to do this pattern for a while, and am very happy with how it turned out. This is a slip stitch pattern, which is pretty intuitive once you have been through a repeat once. It is a pretty long repeat though, as you can probably see. This is one of those things that looks hard, but really it isn’t.
The black yarn is Black Welsh Mountain yarn, and the white is Clun Forest. I did this as a Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em project.

What a visually exciting knit! I love that your projects have a backstory about what the purpose is as you selected the yarn and project. Me, I just have a compulsive need to knit endlessly and get way too wound up with the creativeness and the colors along the way. 🙂

Mostly I am just bouncing from one interesting thing to another, and often it’s just that I need a red cardigan or whatever 🙂 I am enjoying all that I am learning with doing the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em. It makes me happy to find just regular patterns that I can use these yarns for.

I cleaned up the yarn stash last night and found so much great yarn that I decided to not buy another new skein… but this morning when I woke up I started thinking about a little visit to Miss Babs. Seriously, collecting yarn and knitting are two different hobbies. :-

I did lightly block it. Just off the needles it is very bunched up. So I gave it a good soak and pinned it out. I didn’t get crazy with it though.

Currently knitting another brioche cowl, this one about 33” long. I find I prefer them to shorter cowls, because it’s easier to control fit with a shawl pin. Short snuggly cowls are too confining for me!

Oooh I love this! Congrats on finishing a scarf. I have such a hard time seeing scarves all the way to the end. Sweaters, yes. Scarves, not usually 😊

Thank you! It was sort of tough going toward the end of this one. I needed to use up the yarn, which is what kept me from deciding to just make it a cowl and call it good 🙂

Wow that pattern is not for mere mortals! I had to click on the Ravelry link to see the pattern info as it looks nearly impossible to knit. I think I saw in small print: “Tierney do not attempt”. But seriously that is incredible and pretty mind blowing to me!
