Gear Hack

I have been having a problem lately with where to put patterns and how to manage them, mainly due to where I normally knit. But I think I finally came up with a solution:

Music stand! It’s totally adjustable for height and angle, I can put a magnet on it to mark my place. It folds down to a very small item for easy storage, just in case it is every out of use. I’ve been trying it out for the last couple days, and feel like I have resolved my pattern viewing problem πŸ™‚

Do you have any tools or gear that was intended for other use that you have adapted into your crafting use?

  1. That is a fantastic idea! I never would have thought to use a music stand. I’ve been using the coffee table. It’s fine for an easy to remember pattern but a challenge when doing one that requires a lot of looking at the pattern.

  2. I acutally made 4 files in my file cabinet for knitting: Patterns for socks, patterns for kidws, patterns for shawls , and Patterns for hats and mitts. Oh and a warm hat made for camping with two little lights on it I use for night knitting when the porch is too dark or Fireman likes the lights off during tv time. πŸ™‚
