Today is Black Friday, the traditional start of the holiday shopping season. How about a quiz to get us through the craziness?

• Do you shop the sales on Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and/or Cyber Monday? What is your favorite way to shop?
  I don’t go to the sales on Black Friday. It’s way too people-y, and also we mostly aren’t shopping for the kind of things you need to worry about massive discounts on. We give each other books and yarn and so on – no TV sets or things like that. I’m not against it for other people – it’s just not for me. I do not like that stores have started to push the sales back to Thanksgiving. People working it retail already have it hard enough – why take away one of the few days stores are closed? I do sometimes do Small Business Saturday, though I try to shop at our local small business through the year anyway. Cyber Monday can be pretty good, so will often take advantage of discounts there.
• Have you started your gift shopping/crafting?
  Not crafting for anyone this year, and not a lot of shopping to do. I have started thinking about it… there’s a list! But sadly no, I have not shopped yet at all.
• Are you one of those people who has all your gifts wrapped and ready to go early? Are you a last minute shopper and final moments crafter?
  I used to be all about getting it done early, but not in recent years. It used to be a point of pride with me to have my shopping done and everything wrapped by Thanksgiving. That has not been true the last couple years at all. I will likely be done by mid-December. Because I more or less have to be done by then for everything to get mailed and to its destinations by Christmas!
• Do you have a tale from shopping trips past that you wish to share?
  Nothing particularly dramatic – but then I mostly don’t shop for anything at all on Black Friday or the last week or so before Christmas 🙂
