Progress Report

I got a lot of knitting time in this weekend, in between chores and errands and just plain goofing off. Am about 3/4 done with the front of my Forest Weave. Just part of a pattern repeat to finish, then binding off and on to the back!

It will open out quite a bit when it is washed, I think. The yarn is 100% linen and a little stiff right now. But it will soften up quite a bit with use ๐Ÿ™‚

Also, got my new shawl blocked, and am pretty happy with it.

The big thing I am going to change is to do a broader cast on at the start. I didn’t cast on a lot of stitches to begin, and as a result have a bit of a hump there. A beaded example of the four color version is up next! Should have pictures of the start soon.

Hope everyone had good weekends! Did you get to do anything fun?

  1. Not much knitting here this weekend, but there was some furniture swapping with the kids, and a borrowed pickup truck!

Iโ€™m not sure itโ€™s possible to completely eliminate the hump in the center of an extended crescent shawl, but it can definitely be lessened. Have you seen my tutorial? https://pdxknitterati.com/2018/10/22/pdxknitteratis-better-garter-tab-cast-on-for-crescent-shawls/ Still a bit humpy on the finished shawls, but much better than my original attempts. Good luck!

  2. I thought I was keeping up with blogs, but I have sorely fallen behind! No books or tv to suggest, thanks for your suggestions. Yippee on the shawl!! Woohoo on the Forest. I am sure I am missing something in there.

    Weekend…a blur . literally.
Friday night out with friends and promptly felt very sick to my stomach.
Saturday….stormy here. Lots to catch up on still after vacation and a week back to normal life!
Sunday…a whirlwind trip to chicago . I drove all the way for the first time in a long time. Son’s kitten is sick nd we needed to help him get him hydrated again. Brought syringes and food slop and got it down the poor lil guy

    1. Oh my goodness – that’s a busy weekend! So sorry you were feeling sick and then had storms on top of it. Glad you were able to hydrate and feed son’s kitten – hope he is OK!
      Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Your shawl looks really lovely, and I canโ€™t wait to see the Forest Weave finished. Weekend… I was sick on Saturday and went to my studio on Sunday. It was a pretty quiet weekend for me!
