This past weekend we went to our local fabulous used book store – Title Wave. Thanks to our recent KonMari-ing of our house, we have huge piles of credit, so I went to raid the knitting book section. “Wait,” you may say “I thought you were getting rid of things?” And yes, I mostly am. But it never hurts to check out the knitting books. And this week it paid off, because I wound up with some treasures!
First, I netted both Curls and Curls 2. These books are loose patterns for scarf/shawl items that you can knit with any weight of yarn, and can make as big or small as you like. I have had these on my wishlist for a while, but they are a tiny bit pricy new. Each of the books has 14 patterns, and they range from delicate and lacy to more textured and solid.
And on the more goofy side of things, I found this…
You know the meme that keeps going around that knitting is a post-apocalyptic life skill? Well, Doomsday Knits has the projects you can knit for that post-apolcalyptic future 🙂 There are designs to fit almost every dystopian future possibility. This is also a book I have had wishlisted for a while, but it is a little goofy to justify full price. But half-price and using credits? Done and Done! I don’t know what, if anything, I will make out of this, but it’s a fun collection in any case.
Used books for the win!
