So, as it turns out, when you block a thing correctly, it looks much better than when you don’t.
For example:
Admittedly, the difference may also have something to do with not positioning your lace work on a bright, busy, distracting souvenir dish towel. Live and learn! I am still going to try it as stockinette anyway, just to see how it turns out.

I much prefer St st to garter for the background of my lace. I am sure it will help create a smoother finish.

I’m currently knitting a baby blanket for my cousin and her son, and so far it’s going really well. I had to make the third section striped (then knitting the final two sections in the second color,) because the original yarn was discontinued, but the two colors work together really well.

Blocking makes such a difference in anything made with wool, but blocking lace truly is magical. It makes me a little giddy, to be perfectly honest!
